Thoughout July, the influential record label, helmed by Ed Solo and Deekline, will take over London’s premier bass music venue, XOYO, with a four-week Friday residency which kicked off on July 5. The residency promises an outrageous lineup that encapsulates the raw energy and underground chaos synonymous with Jungle Cakes. To mark this milestone, Ed Solo and Deekline have also chosen their favorite tracks from the past ten years, encapsulating the essence of Jungle Cakes’ journey. This selection not only celebrates the label’s rich history but also highlights the evolution of jungle and drum and bass, ensuring that each track is a testament to the label’s influence and legacy in the bass music world. Benny Page & Doktor – Warn Dem This was such a big tune, a next-level serious hook and a half. The fusion of Doktor’s soundclash lyricism and Benny’s heavy horn sound takes the whole thing stratospheric. During lockdown Deekline built his studio and this was the first real sheller to emerge, a sign of his growth as an independent producer.   General Levy – The General (Ed Solo remix) MIR crew came to us with this one. Ed got on the remix and it instantly went off in the dance. Since this tune, we’ve worked with General Levy a few times, and he always delivers. Beat Assassins – Home Grown (Phibes remix) Phibes came to us and they were 100% convinced this one was going to blow up. It had been going off on their socials, people loved it. Global Beatport no 1 later – very rare for DNB – and we were convinced.  KLEU – Rudy, A Message To You Cut from our Trojan remix project, an absolute classic. We all tried to remix this one but we could never get it right. Kleu took it on and used the original tempo, then sped it up into DNB. Absolute banger. Ed Solo & Deekline & AIRGLO – Space Ed Solo says: “I got a promo from an unknown US artist, and one of the tunes was called ‘Innit’. It was so loud that my LUFS loudness meter went into the plus, which I didn’t think was possible! I found him on Insta and messaged ‘you broke my loudness meter, innit’. I then struck up a friendship which led to this one.” Deekline and Jah Cuzzi – Three Little Birds This one is very close to the original vibe, but DNB. Approved by the Bob Marley Foundation. Ed Solo & Deekline – Top Ranking – Upgrade & T>I Remix This one had been sizzling under for a while. The Trojan remix project brought it all together and gave us the opportunity to use those original ’70s licks. Upgrade and T>I took it to the next level. Kaya Fyah, Martial Taktics, MC Det, Ed Solo – She Was Afraid A fiery slingshot of positive culture vibes from the brightest new star in the constellation. Over the last few years, the rise of a particular individual in the UK electronic scene has mesmerised not only British followers but music fans around the world alike. With a solid foundation of work spiralling back almost a decade, the notable rise of one Sammy Virji has been fascinating to follow. A producer who holds no boundaries when introducing new sounds to his work, his consideration towards a plethora of genres, and influences, throughout the multitude of sets he plays is a testament to the musicality he possesses. In more recent years, his ventures into the UK garage world have seen him reach the very pinnacle of underground dance music, unquestionably placing UK electronic music at the forefront of a more global movement.

Innate MC (Lewis Edwards) followed a path less travelled, in hindsight, the decision paved the way for a whole new chapter for the master of ceremony.
